BAC ConferenceThis year the conference will be held at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane on Thursday 1st October. The conference is your opportunity to get involved in the running of the BAC. Part of the day is given over to our annual general meeting and elections of new board members, both of which are opportunities to get involved. There will also be information from our partners on the benefits they can offer to you.
For full details, please visit the BAC website next week when booking forms will be available. Forms will also be sent out to athlete reps and NGBs
The conference will be on the same day, and at the same venue, as the SportsAid ball. The BAC works in partnership with SportsAid and we are delighted that we will be able to support the event. There will be a number of places available at the ball for conference delegates, so book your places quick.
team 2012This has become an increasingly hot issue over the past few weeks, especially with newspaper articles in recent days. It appears that most athletes have now signed the deed document, though there are a number still outstanding. The BAC was involved in the discussions over the document and we feel that the vast majority of athletes can sign it without any concerns that it will substantially affect them commercially. We realise that there maybe a small handful of you who have concerns about aspects of the deed and how it may affect you. However, if that is the case, we urge you to contact the team 2012 administrators via the uk sport email address sponsorship@uksport.gov.uk so that those concerns can be addressed directly and we can all get on with focussing on the job in hand.
We are also extremely concerned about newspaper articles accusing individual athletes of delaying the team 2012 project. This is unacceptable, as any teething problems being encountered by this project are not the fault of any athletes. The BAC will continue to moitor the situation and ensure that athletes are not being put under undue pressure.
