Athlete Ambassadors

We are delighted to be working alongside eight BAC Athlete Ambassadors, who work with us to help champion the athlete voice and to support the BAC in ensuring we provide the best support and guidance to our membership.

Hannah Cockroft

Hannah Cockroft MBE: Wheelchair racer specialising in sprint distances in the T34 classification.

Hannah is a seven-time Paralympic champion, with the most recent two of those titles coming at Tokyo 2020.

Will Bayley

Will Bayley MBE: Para-table tennis player who claimed a memorable gold medal at Rio 2016.

Will also has world and European titles to his name, as well as three Paralympic silver medals.

Nekoda Smythe-Davis

Nekoda Smythe-Davis: Judoka with a collection of international honours, which includes the Commonwealth gold she won at Glasgow 2014.

Nekoda has recently returned to training following the birth of her first child. 

Joe Choong

Joe Choong MBE: Modern pentathlete who became the first British man to win Olympic gold in the sport when he claimed the title in Tokyo.

Joe also has a host of world and European championship medals to his name.

Laura Deas

Laura Deas: Skeleton racer and a double Olympian.

Laura claimed bronze in Pyeongchang in 2018, making history alongside Lizzy Yarnold, becoming the first two British winter Olympians to finish on the podium of the same event for the first time.

Alice Dearing

Alice Dearing: Swimmer who made her Olympic debut in the open water event in Tokyo.

Alice is the first black female swimmer to have represented Great Britain at an Olympics, and is passionate about using her profile and achievements to inspire others into the sport.

Kristian Thomas

Kristian Thomas: Retired gymnast who won a bronze medal at London 2012.

Since calling time on his career, Kristian has worked in the Athlete Engagement Manager role at the BAC, and now works within the Player Care team at the Premier League.

Alex Danson

Alex Danson MBE: Retired hockey player who was part of Great Britain’s memorable Olympic campaigns of 2012 and 2016, which resulted in bronze and gold medals respectively.

Alex lauched her own hockey academy in 2017.

Laura Deas

Laura Deas: Skeleton racer who won bronze at the 2018 Winter Olympics, continuing Britain’s outstanding recent record in the event. Laura has been a consistent performer on the World Cup circuit since making her debut in the 2014-15 season.

2020 Athlete Ambassadors:

Alex Danson

Alex Danson MBE: Retired English international field hockey player, with over 300 international caps to her name, Alex was part of the Great Britain team which won Olympic gold and bronze medals in 2016 and 2012 respectively.

Hannah Cockroft

Hannah Cockroft MBE: Wheelchair racer specialising in sprint distances in the T34 classification. Hannah won gold in the 100m, 400m and 800m at the London 2017 World Championships and has won five Paralympic, 12 world and two European titles since making her international debut.

Lutalo Muhammad

Lutalo Muhammad: Lutalo competes in  taekwondo for Great Britain, and won bronze at the London 2012 Olympic Games, silver at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and gold in the -87kg class at the 2012 European Taekwondo Championships.
